Certification at BAM

We certify products and associated manufacturing systems and carry out the necessary monitoring. Our certifications are based on EC directives and national legal regulations. In addition, we also certify in special fields of competence in the legally non-regulated area, i.e. where there are no legal regulations for the products to date or none at all.

Certification schemes

The requirements for certification are described in the certification schemes

Applications for new certifications will only be accepted in the scheme “Low-sparking materials for equipment and tools”.

Important change!

This certification program will be discontinued on 31.12.2028. Newly issued certificates will therefore become invalid on this date at the latest.

Steps towards certification

  • The client sends an enquiry to the BAM Certification Body, preferably to bzs@bam.de
  • The BAM Certification Body checks the client‘s request/application.
  • The BAM Certification Body sends information on the certification procedure and a draft contract to the client.
  • The client returns the application for certification to the BAM Certification Body (conclusion of the contract).
  • Laboratory tests are performed as required.
  • Subsequently, BAM carries out conformity assessment, which includes an assessment report, issuing a certificate and publication in the certification register.
  • Monitoring procedures follow legal and/or contractual terms

Certification Register

In the certification register, all certificates are published including information about their scope, their period of validity and possible withdrawal or suspension.
