NDT&E Advanced Training at BAM
Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation in Civil Engineering and Surveying - Advanced Training aims to provide basic and cutting-edge knowledge on the latest development of instrumentation, principles, automation, signal processing, problem-solving techniques and case studies across multiple NDT&E-CE’s disciplines. This course will take place at the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) in Berlin, Germany. It provides a professional and independent environment allowing participants to learn the theory and to get hands on experience on state of the art equipment and methods.

Explosives and pyrotechnics information event
The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) organises explosives and pyrotechnics events every year to exchange information and experiences. BAM experts exchange their knowledge with representatives from enforcement authorities and industry. The topics include: explosives, blasting accessories, primers and propellant powders and pyrotechnics plus test methods. New findings on explosives are presented using practical examples.

3rd International Workshop on Thermo-Mechanical Fatigue
Components in the Aerospace, Power and Automotive engineering sectors are frequently subjected to cyclic stresses induced by thermal fluctuations and mechanical loads. For the design of such components, reliable material property data are required which need to be acquired using well accepted and reproducible test procedures for thermo-mechanical fatique (TMF) loading. Available materials TMF property data are limited so that there is a need for further TMF data generated by TMF testing. The TMF behaviour of materials is often desired to be simulated in models which describe the cyclic stress-strain behaviour, the fatique life and the cyclic crack growth behaviour. There is a continuous need for the development and amendment of such models. Models can be validated by using materials in industrial applications which are subjected to TMF loading.
The workshop is aimed at engineers, scientists and technical staff of research institutes and industry who have an interest in the numerous aspects of thermo-mechanical fatigue.

FRPM 2015 - European Meeting on Fire Retardancy and Protection of Materials
The biennial FRPM conferences are not only a platform for academic exchange, they also capture the attention of industry. Over one third of the FRPM15 participants were representatives of the polymer industry, the flame retardants industry and the final products industry. They were there to find out about the latest scientific trends concerning flame retardancy. The participants looked at materials in building construction, transportation, electrical and electronic engineering. Effective fire retardancy for polymers was the main focus.
The key properties of materials include ignitability, flame spread, heat release rate, fire load and resistance to fire. Hence, it is our primary challenge is to provide effective fire retardancy for polymers by creating a balance between their functionality and their risk as a fire hazard. Commercial and regulatory pressure is a strong driving force in the multi-disciplinary research and development in this field.

10th European Conference on Applications of Surface and Interface Analysis 2003
ECASIA'03 was the 10th European Conference on Applications of Surface and Interface Analysis. The scientific program consisted of plenary and keynote lectures, oral presentations in two parallel sessions, poster contributions and a full instrument exhibition - all under one roof. Participants from 43 nations joined in the Conference ECASIA'03. The Conference language was English. The concerns of this ECASIA Conference were and are almost entirely based on this world wide web site.
