The Federal institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) has developed a load-based test for hydronic heat pumps (compensation method), an alternative method to the established standards that better reflects improvements in heat pump controllers and technology aiming at more representative testing. This project, funded by Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU), aims to validate the compensation method using an emulator approach with a two-mass building model in a round-robin test (RRT). The following labs participated in the RRT performing measurements independently and contributing to the further refinement of the test guideline (This list contains only labs which agreed to be named and may be uncomplete.):

AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH
BRE Group
Eurac Research - Institute for Renewable Energy
ISFH – Institut für Solarenergieforschung in Hameln
HLK Stuttgart GmbH
POLIMI - Politecnico di Milano, Dipartimento di Energia
