Certification at BAM
We certify products and associated manufacturing systems and carry out the necessary monitoring.
The requirements for certification are described in the certification schemes
Current Issues
Due to the gradual discontinuation of our activities within these schemes, we are no longer accepting applications for certification.
Subject: UK Pyrotechnics certification
BAM will cease its activities as a certification body for pyrotechnic articles for the UK market (UKCA marking) as of April 1, 2026. More details can be found here.
Note: BAM’s role as a notified body for the European market (CE marking) remains unaffected.
Subject: Certificates for „Low-sparking materials for equipment and tools“ (BZS-ZP/2.8)
A clarification regarding the scope of the program and terminology can be found here.
Research results of BAM prove that the use of the so far certified products in hydrogen atmospheres is associated with risks without further testing. For acetylene atmospheres as well as steel as impact partner there are still no concerns under the conditions specified in the respective certificates.
Here you can find background information on the findings.
Certification Register
In the certification register, all certificates are published including information about their scope, their period of validity and possible withdrawal or suspension.
Normative bases
